1. Who we are

This website is operated by Visual Life Collective Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14393230), with a registered address at 3 Totman Crescent, Rayleigh, Essex, England, SS6 7UY.

For any privacy-related queries, contact us at hello@thevisuallife.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity data: name (when you provide it via forms)
  • Contact data: email address (when you sign up for our mailing list or make a purchase)
  • Transaction data: details of products you purchase and payment confirmation (we do not store full card details — these are handled by our payment processor, Stripe)
  • Usage data: information about how you use our website, including pages visited, time spent, and device/browser information, collected via PostHog
  • Marketing preferences: your preferences regarding receiving marketing from us

3. How we collect data

We collect data in the following ways:

  • Directly from you when you make a purchase, subscribe to our mailing list, or contact us
  • Automatically via cookies and similar technologies when you browse our website (see Section 7 on Cookies)
  • From third parties such as our payment processor (Stripe) and analytics provider (PostHog)

4. How we use your data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process and fulfil your orders (lawful basis: contract)
  • To send you your digital download links (lawful basis: contract)
  • To send you marketing emails about new products and offers — only where you have opted in (lawful basis: consent)
  • To improve our website and understand how visitors use it via analytics (lawful basis: legitimate interests / consent where cookies are used)
  • To comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting requirements (lawful basis: legal obligation)

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Stripe — our payment processor, to handle transactions securely
  • PostHog, Inc. — for website analytics; we use PostHog's EU Cloud, meaning your data is stored and processed on servers within the European Economic Area and is not transferred to the USA
  • Email marketing providers (e.g. Mailchimp / ConvertKit) — to send you emails you have consented to receive
  • HM Revenue & Customs or other regulatory bodies where required by law

PostHog's EU Cloud stores all data within the EEA. We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK or EEA in connection with analytics. Where any other transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in line with UK GDPR requirements.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Purchase records: 7 years (required for tax and accounting purposes)
  • Marketing email list: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent
  • Analytics data: retained in PostHog for up to 12 months, after which it is anonymised or deleted
  • Support enquiries: 2 years from last contact

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. We use:

  • Essential cookies: required for the website to function (no consent needed)
  • Analytics cookies: placed by PostHog to help us understand site usage, such as pages visited and session duration — these are only set with your consent via our cookie banner

You can manage or withdraw cookie consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in our footer. You can also control cookies via your browser settings. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify any inaccurate data
  • Erase your data (the "right to be forgotten"), where it applies
  • Restrict how we process your data
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the lawful basis

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@thevisuallife.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. All payment data is handled by Stripe and transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We never store your full card details.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of our website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
